Atty. Richard V. Fitzgerald, 73, of Milford MA died Sunday evening (September 14, 2025) at his residence after an illness. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Born in Milford, MA to the late William Fitzgerald and late Frances (Ferro) Fitzgerald, Richard was the youngest of five children. He attended Saint Mary's High School in Milford. He earned a B.A. in political science at Boston College (class of 1974) and then graduated from Boston College Law School (class of 1977).

Richard went on to work as the assistant district attorney for Worcester County. He later joined Kelley and Ryan Associates and supported the expansion of the company as its chief financial officer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. An avid baseball fan, he followed the Milford Legion Baseball team throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife Jill (Lisewski) Fitzgerald, with whom he spent 49 wonderful years of marriage after they met at Boston College. They raised two children, Kelly Fitzgerald of Wayland MA (wife of Marco Charamella) and Ryan Fitzgerald of New York NY. He delighted in his two young grandchildren, Ariana and Briana Charamella. He also leaves his brothers William Fitzgerald (husband of Jean Fitzgerald) and Edward Fitzgerald (husband of Anne Fitzgerald) and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Richard's life at a time of visitation Saturday (September 20th) at 8-9AM at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Milford MA.
