Anthony Candelora Obituary
Former Mayor for the town of North Branford
Former North Branford Mayor Anthony S. Candelora, 62, of North Branford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13th, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. Born in New Haven on February 16th, 1963, he was the son of Salvatore A. and Catherine Tancreti Candelora. A graduate of North Branford High School, Anthony was Vice President of Sales for Taconic Wire. He served on the North Branford Town Council for five terms, three as Mayor. Proud father of Mike Candelora. Brother of Michele Pollock (John), Angela Watrous (David), Joseph Candelora (Denise) and State Representative Vincent Candelora (Carolyn). Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and Godfather to Julia Watrous and Ava Candelora. Predeceased by his former wife Kimberly Candelora.
The visiting hours will be Friday, July 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Ambrose Parish at St. Augustine Church, 30 Caputo Road, North Branford on Saturday morning, July 19th at 10:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Project Purple at projectpurple.org.

Sal, Catherine and family -
So sorry to hear of Anthony's passing. I met your son several times over the years, and he knew we went way back to times of good memories. I told him, not many people would lend me their horse, but you did! He seemed surprised, but believed it immediately. Anthony was always very respectful of the fact that I knew his parents. He was patient and and caring, ...I'm sure that came from his good upbringing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss. Anthony and your family will be in my prayers.

Heartfelt condolences to you all. I remember spending many sleep overs, swimming, along with lots of dinners at Ground Round as a child with the family. May Anthony Rest In Peace.
