Anthony "Tony" Colatrella Obituary
Anthony R. "Tony" Colatrella, a long-time member of the Milton community, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, at NewBridge on the Charles. Born in East Boston, Tony's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his commitment to his work. Tony was the beloved husband of Marilyn C. Colatrella (Rosebach); father of son Anthony S. Colatrella and his wife Mary of Six Mile, S.C.; daughter Karen M. Neary and her husband John of Milton, MA; and daughter Kathy A. Waters and her husband, Chris of The Woodlands, TX. Tony was predeceased by his parents, Carmen and Jennie Colatrella (Ciccarelli). He was a devoted brother to the late Marie Chiara and Josephine Colatrella. His legacy continues through his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will remember him for his warmth and loving care.
Raised in East Boston, Tony was a proud graduate of East Boston High School and Northeastern University. His education laid the foundation for a lifetime of service and achievement. Anthony's career was as diverse as it was distinguished. He worked with unwavering dedication as a supervisor for the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, where he helped countless individuals find new hope and opportunities. In addition to his public service, Anthony was the enterprising owner of Mark IV Realty in Dorchester, where he was respected for his honesty, integrity and business acumen.
Tony's commitment to his community extended beyond his professional life. He was a proud World War lI Veteran of the United States Army, having served his country with honor and bravery. His continued service was evident through his active membership in the McKeon Post in Dorchester, MA. where he shared his experiences and camaraderie with fellow veterans. Those who knew Tony would describe him as loving- a word that captures the essence of his character. His love was a constant presence in the lives of his family and friends as well as in his willingness to help others, and his unwavering support for those he held dear.
Tony's life was a testament to the power of love, service, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his spirit will live on through the many lives he touched. His family takes comfort in the memories they share and the knowledge that his legacy will endure through the generations. As we bid farewell to Tony, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor a man who made the world a better place through his presence. May he rest in peace, knowing he was truly loved and will always be remembered.
