Tony attended schools at Gardenville Elementary, Hamilton Jr. High, Baltimore City College (a high school) and the University of Maryland where he graduated in February 1966, the same date he started work. Tony worked as a computer programmer, systems analyst and project manager starting at Western Electric (then AT&T, then Lucent Technologies). He was lucky enough to participate in the 1984 Olympics in L.A. through work. He loved his work and all his co-workers throughout his career.
He traveled to England twice to attend his son's weddings and to France once.
Devoted husband to Theresa Dragunas for 62 years. Devoted father of DeeAnna Marie McNicholas and her husband Micheal, Anthony Alphonsus Dragunas Junior and his wife, now deceased, Helen (nee Dean), and John Joseph Dragunas and his wife Alison (nee Turner).
He was a loving grandfather of Amy Badders (and her husband Charles), Justin McNicholas, Collin McNicholas, Kevin McNicholas, Thomas Dragunas, Samuel Dragunas and Isabella Dragunas. He was a loving great grandfather to Danica Badders, Charles Owen Dunning, Victoria Badders and Cole Badders.
He loved his brother Joseph Dragunas who passed before him. He is survived by his sisters, who he loved dearly, Marie Hess, Bernadette Ward and Delores Maddox.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Anthony's life at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home - 3 Newport Drive, Forest Hill, MD 21050, for a visitation on Wednesday, September 18th 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19th 2024, 11 AM at Evans. Interment to follow at Highview Memorial Gardens.
