Anthony (Tony) M. Kranz, 71, of Westmont, IL, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 26, 1953, in Chicago, IL, to the late Anthony R. and the late Helen Kranz, Tony lived a life defined by love and unwavering service to others.
A man deeply devoted to his faith, family, and friends. Tony served as President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, President of the St. Vincent Council, and as a proud 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Westmont.
Tony was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of nearly 49 years, Mary Ellen Kranz (née Waller); loving father of Philip (Tara) Kranz and Kevin (Stephanie) Kranz; and proud grandfather of Christian, Elin and Quinn Kranz; beloved brother of Ann (Mark) Wilson and Paul (Cindy) Kranz; proud son-in-law of the late Gerald F. Waller and Joan Waller, and the fond brother-in-law of the late Gerald Waller (Dawn), Edward Waller (Joni), and Kathleen Waller (Charles), cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to many.
Tony found immense joy in traveling, woodworking, bowling, spending time at Diamond Lake, and cheering on the Chicago White Sox. Above all, his greatest pride came from coaching his sons in little league baseball and supporting his grandchildren, whether at baseball games or ballet performances.
Tony had a distinguished career spanning 30 years with McDonald's Corporation as a computer programmer/analyst. His achievements were honored with a prestigious President's Award, recognizing individuals whose daily actions inspire others and exemplify the company's core values.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Tony's life will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish at 25 East Richmond Street, Westmont, IL 60559.
