Anthony Mariconda

MARICONDA, Anthony, age 67 of Hamburg, on Friday, September 2, 2011. Born in Paterson, Anthony had resided in Glen Rock before moving to Hamburg in 2001. Anthony had worked as a science teacher at Emerson Jr./Sr. High School in Emerson from 1972-2000. A sports enthusiast, Anthony officiated multiple sports. He was a member of the Tri-County Football Officials Association, and the NJ Football Officials Association. Anthony was also a member of the Bergen County Umpires Association as well. He also acted as the USA Hockey Atlantic District Referee in Chief, was an NHL Off-Ice Official with the NJ Devils, and was a member of the Northeast Ice Hockey Officials Association. Anthony Mariconda was the beloved husband of Joan (nee: Taylor) Mariconda. Loving father of Philip Mariconda and his wife Susan of Seattle, WA, and Paul Mariconda and his wife Holly of Edmond, OK. Dear grandfather of Nicholas, Christopher, and Isabella Mariconda. Brother of Alan Mariconda of Hawthorne, and the late David Mariconda and Annamae Filipelli. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
