Tagliabue, Richard, also known as "Mr. Richie", on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Born in Paterson, Richard had been a lifelong resident. After serving his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, Richard began working for the Wayne Township Board of Education as a bus driver, driving school instructor, and safety program coordinator. Thirteen years ago, Richard retired and was happy to become more involved at the Elmwood Park Recreation Department where he had also worked during his full time employment in Wayne. He enjoyed working and was devoted to his job.

Richard was the beloved uncle of Barbara Krieger and her husband Jason of North Haledon, Amy Martins and her husband Manny of Dover, and Robert Tagliabue of Wayne. Brother-in-law of Barbara Tagliabue of Wayne. Great uncle of Alysa, Ethan, Tyler, Devon, Hunter, and Emily who all knew him as "Ochie". Dear cousin of Patricia Colvin and her husband Frank and Kathy Johnson and her husband Terry. Brother of the late Robert Tagliabue (2001).

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4:00 – 8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elmwood Park Recreation Department.
