Anthony Marks Obituary
After receiving public school education in Texas, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, he ultimately received his high school diploma from Phoebus High School in Hampton, VA. Upon graduation, he held numerous employment opportunities, including as insurance sales agent for People's Insurance Agency and as security guard for Top Guard Security firm.
Tony enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Sgt E4. He received an award for Sharpshooter following his graduation from Basic Training School. His service in Administration culminated with tours of duty at Pope Air Force Base, NC; Minot Air Force Base, ND; and overseas tours of Germany and Japan. He volunteered for Desert Storm/ Desert Shield but was unable to deploy because of the Sole Survivor referendum, and his brother Kevin had already deployed to the war-torn region. Tony faithfully served his country for ten years, receiving an honorable discharge.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Anthony Duane Pelham Sr. (Shanika Keyes); grandsons, Anthony Duane Pelham Jr. and Pryce Jonah Pelham; great- grandson, Nazir Pelham; bonus granddaughter Kamilah Zarif; siblings, Sharon (Izell) Davis; Rhonda (Kim) Gainey; Debra Marks; and Kevin (Paulina) Marks; aunt Eula Wilson; uncles, Rev Jesse Pettaway, Johnny Pettaway, and Lorenzo Johnson; nephews Nigel and Antoine; nieces Anisha, Brittany and Brianna; 4 great- nephews; 6 great- nieces and numerous loving cousins and friends.
