Anthony C. Martone, Sr.

Anthony C. Martone, Sr, 93, formerly of New Haven, died peacefully on December 13, 2025. For 69 years, he was the beloved husband of Lucille Cioffi Martone. Together they had three children Donna Martone, Michael (Andi) Martone and the late Anthony C. Martone, Jr.; three grandchildren Charles Ruggiero, Toni Marie Ruggiero and Carissa Del Vasto, three great grandsons James A. Ruggiero, Cameron Reed and Shawn Reed, daughter-in-law Andi Martone and many nieces and nephews.
The last of ten siblings, Anthony was born in New Haven on August 16, 1932. a son of the late Aniello and Anna Minichino Martone. From 1949 to 1952, Tony proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. A member of Teamsters Local 443 for 37 years, he worked for Akers Motor Lines for 25 years and then for Schuster Express for 12 years. He enjoyed traveling, getting away on cruises and spending time in Florida with his favorite nephew Henry.
Visitation will take place on Thursday December 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John XXIII parish at St. John Vianney Church at 11:30. Interment, with military honors, will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
