Loving Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather
Mr. Anthony Perugini, age 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at River Glen Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Elaine (Paternostro) Perugini and Margaret (Schott) Perugini.
Born on June 20, 1933, in Waterbury, Tony was the son of the late Filomeno and Elizabeth (Christiano) Perugini. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and held an Associate's Degree from the Waterbury State Technical College in Electrical Engineering Technology. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War Era on the USS Randolph CV-15. He worked as a technician for Southern New England Telephone for 40 years until his retirement. After his retirement, Tony worked part-time for The China Shop.
Tony was a member of the SNET Pioneers. A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Tony was a eucharistic minister and a CYO advisor. Along with his wife, Margaret, Tony enjoyed gardening, working out, and traveling.
Anthony is survived by his sons Paul Perugini of Waterbury and David Perugini and his wife Ellen of Thomaston and sons Ernest Reardon of Waterbury and Patrick Reardon and his wife Maureen of Raleigh, NC; his beloved grandchildren Dave Perugini and his wife Lindsey of Thomaston, Becky Famigletti and her husband Brian of Canaan, Bob Perugini of Thomaston, and Nathaniel Reardon, Lucas Reardon, and Joshua Reardon; all of Raleigh, NC. He also leaves his great-grandchildren Milo and Adelaide Jane; and his sisters Josephine Perugini and Carmen Perugini, both of Culver City, CA. He was predeceased by his brothers Nicholas Perugini and John Perugini and his sister Teresa Middlekoop.
Anthony's funeral will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 9:00am from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass at 10:00am. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends can visit with the family on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 5:00pm.
