If life were a sitcom-
Anthony Robertson would've been the star. Anthony loved huge and made an impression on everybody he came across. His impeccable timing, big heart, unpredictable plot twists, secrets - of which he had none and could keep none. His favorite costars, of course, being Ashton and Myka. But his fan base was truly anyone who spent more than five minutes with him. A friend to all and oh my goodness we mean all. Anthony didn't just love big - he loved chaotically. Anthony was always volunteering to help to you in any way possible; he helped everyone so much it could absolutely drive anyone crazy, but in that adorable "I swear I'm fine, please stop helping me" kind of way.
The A.D.D. Adventures-
Anthony's ADD wasn't a trait - it was a whole experience.
This guy lost his keys and wallet every single day, and often times his mind too. If you ever went grocery shopping with him, you know. Simple explanation: You don't go to a grocery store with Anthony for one item. Reality: An hour later, you're exiting with 40 pounds of snacks, gourmet meat, typically two things you didn't know existed, then you might make it home. Maybe. If he didn't get distracted by a food sample, a fishing display or an aisle that "just looks interesting." This also includes his knack for poking, prodding and pushing Alex, Jackson or Ashton which made you want to "kick a fat kid at Kmart" - Theo Von
Anthony had passions-
Fishing:
Anthony fished like he was training for a televised Angling Championship. Didn't matter if he caught anything - he'd blame it on "uncooperative fish with commitment issues" and head back out the next day. The man loved ice fishing; although he was usually underdressed and his talent to walk on ice reminded you of Bambi. Now all of the Uncles & Homies will step up to make sure Anthony's love of fishing and being outside is a huge part of Ashton's life.
Music & Guitar-
Anthony didn't just play and listen to music - he lived in it. Every song had a story or a memory; he played guitar with the kind of enthusiasm that made you smile. But more importantly he played for his dad and he played for Ashton, wanting him to share his passion. He never could choose one specific genre; he loved all types of music and shared all of favorite songs with any and everybody.
Cooking-
Anthony cooked to impress. Always. He wasn't simply making a meal - he was hosting a culinary event. Bet you never knew there was 20 ways to boil water. And if anybody complimented the food, it fueled him like gasoline on a bonfire. "What do you think? Be honest," he'd say while waiting for you to gush over his seasoning skills. Calls after making a meal to tell you how good it was even though he called last week talking about the same meal.
His Sidekick-
Where Anthony went, his loyal 98-year-old bitch sidekick Myka went. She was his partner, his shadow, his copilot and the only living being who could match his energy and his quirkiness. Myka's was his best friend for the last 14 years.
His love for Fantasy Football and the Raiders-
The truth here is we all have our embarrassing faults.
His Heart-
Anthony's greatest joy - his whole universe - is Ashton.
To understand this a little more, Anthony had officially worn Karlee down just enough to create the greatest gift of all time. But hold up-before we get to that, we need to rewind a few years and remind ourselves that none of this would've happened without two of the most stubborn love birds on the planet. And by "stubborn," we mean Anthony and Karlee dated approximately 50 different times between high school and now. On again, off again, on again… it's basically adding to Anthony's sitcom.
Every loud, silly voice, walking through the door and loudly hearing "BABY BOY" or "MY MAN". Every guitar strum, every pancake masterpiece, going up to the park, every grocery store detour… it was all better once Ashton was part of it. His love for that little boy was loud, joyful, goofy, gigantic and absolutely unmatchable. Anthony was an amazing Dad; Ashton was his world and made his world complete. Their bond is strong and eternal.
His baby boy was his driving force, anything he ever did was with Ash in mind or for him. His happiest moment was the moment he found out he was going to be a dad. He had immediately made so many plans for Ash. Most of those plans were to honor his own dad, and he had always believed his dad had a hand in giving him Ashton. He always said he had big shoes to fill, and he had started teaching his boy all of the things that were important to him. Anthony was always quick to call everyone he knew the moment there was a big milestone, Ashton did something new or said something funny. His proudest dad moments: the first time Ash started dancing and singing to Blink, the first time Ashton caught his own fish and riding his bike down the biggest hills he could find.
Anthony's big love will live on through his baby boy.
Let's sum this all up. His 'Dash' - Anthony was a dad. Anthony's go to spot was on the water - particularly up at Lost Creek Reservoir, a well-worn tackle box and the quiet thrill between cast and strike. Anthony's dedication to a short walk up to Andy Adams Reservoir teaching Ashton to cast beside him, letting ripples carry their conversations. He did tell Ashton that if he was loud, he'd scare the fish away, which he always laughed about because that's every fisherman dad's moment of peace - but ironically, Anthony was always the loudest wherever he was.
His love of music (loved him some Blink182), fresh air, kitchen speakers humming, showing his dancing skills to his school classmates (those who know, know and are probably laughing right now) or cooking to impress - he left his mark. Of course, we need to mention his excellent phone use - A phone call to just check-in, but it wasn't just one phone call! It was ten more of the same call to you during the same day.
Anthony was one of a kind -the playful jokes, mostly off beat timing that made you laugh, his understanding of geometry is frustrating, the little signature habits that were unmistakably Anthony. Those quirks were sparks; they made moments memorable and will keep us laughing for years.
None of us are entirely sure we're able to navigate his loss, but we all know we're keeping our memories of him alive. We have loved every visit, text, call, picture and post. We will be planning a Celebration of Anthony's life in the Springtime at his favorite fishing spot but will continue celebrating him daily by sharing the stories we all have.
There are too many loved ones he's left behind to name, but we know that you all know who you are since we're sure you received his random phone calls, texted song links or big hug every time he ran into you.
Please help us celebrate Anthony by sharing memories and uploading photos and stories to his memorial page at www.myers-mortuary.com. The family will receive a book with all your memories and photos.
