Anthony "Scoop" Rose

Anthony (Scoop) Rose passed peacefully and unexpectedly on November 19, 2025. He was born in Dickenson County, VA, on August 22, 1965, to the late J.C. and Charlotte Rose. The family moved to Newport News, VA, when he was three years old. Scoop graduated from Ferguson High School in 1983 and began working at Casey Cycle City, rising to the position of parts manager. He then furthered his career in the power sports industry by working for several wholesale distributors, winning many sales awards and recognition.
Scoop was a VERY talented blues and rock guitarist. He began playing with his father at age 12 and quickly progressed from student to master. He played in several bands in the Tidewater area. He enjoyed music of all types, riding motorcycles, and making others laugh.
Left to cherish his memory are his twin sons, Adam and Jake; his brother, Chris (Edie); niece, Whitney Riggs (Paul); nephew, Jessie; his long-time best friend and faithful supporter, Fred Deziel (Tammy); and countless extended family, friends, co-workers, and supporters.
Scoop was haunted by his addictions, which often alienated his loved ones. But everyone knew that he had a huge heart, an endless sense of humor, and a warm, comforting nature that drew others to him.
Scoop's wishes were to be cremated. There will be a celebratory memorial service at a later date.
