Sharon Dee Yonek

Sharon Dee Yonek, age 74, of Elizabeth City, NC, died at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was born in Northampton, VA, on December 18, 1950 and raised on Chincoteague Island. Her parents were the late Pete and Eliode Richardson, and she was the widow of John J. Yonek. Sharon was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she was the secretary for over 40 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Horton and husband, Chris, of Camden, NC; her son, Tony Yonek, and wife, Andrea, of Greencastle, PA; grandchildren, Kacie, Ryan, Drew, and Toni; great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Charlie. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Warren and Reita LeCato.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church, with Pastor Bryan Pease officiating.
