Anthony James Schifano, 82, of Marco Island, Florida, passed away on December 2, 2024, in Naples, Florida.
Tony was born in Flint, Michigan to Mary and Jack Schifano on June 25, 1942. He went to high school at Flint/Southwestern High School and graduated in 1960. He received a bachelor's degree in urban planning from Michigan State University in 1970. He worked in Urban Planning and Development for the city of Flint as well as Economic Development for Flint Genessee County Corporation. He was also the Director of Foreign Office of Trade for the state of Michigan -Canadian Operations.
Tony had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling, biking, sailing, hiking and camping with family. Tony is survived by his spouse of 60 years, Barbara Schifano of Marco Island, Florida and his daughters Angelica, Lisa and Christina, sons-in-law Tim and Scott, grandchildren Trisha (Ryan), Steven (Emily), Jessica, Luca and Gemma and great-grandchild Wesley.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at Avow Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care of Tony in his final days. Memorial donations can be made in Tony's honor online: https://avowcares.org.
