Lawrence "Larry" A. Schifano, aged 77, of Bethel Park, PA, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, with his beloved wife Sharon by his side. In the months leading up to his passing, Larry was lovingly cared for by Bridges Hospice, whose team members provided exceptional care for him and support for his wife. Born on September 19, 1947, Larry was the treasured son of the late Lawrence and Josephine Schifano and the late biological parents James and Sophie Haggerty. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Sharon (King) Schifano. Larry was also a cherished brother to Renee Elliott (Gary) and the late Ronald Schifano, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Larry committed his career to helping others as a compassionate registered nurse at Caring Heights in Kennedy Township, where everyone remembers him as the 3-11 supervisor who wore cowboy boots, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and care that touched countless lives. Beyond his professional achievements, Larry loved animals, especially goats & deer, had a deep appreciation for Classic Rock music and relished the thrill of riding his beloved Big Dog motorcycle. He will be forever remembered for his kindhearted nature, crazy sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 11:00am-2:00pm with a Blessing Service starting at 2:00pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care 5405 Steubenville Pike Robinson Township, PA 15136. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
