Anthony Darrell Swartz, 79, after a long, almost two-year battle with his health, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 28th. A wonderful, great husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle and friend. He finally laid to rest and joined his parents and two brothers.
Anthony was born in Malad, Idaho, on October 30, 1945. He was the second of four boys born to Ellen and Darrell Swartz.
He loved and adored his family. Making sure there were lots of camping trips, boating, biking and fun activities with family.
He graduated from Ricks College with a Business Degree. When he was younger, he was very good on the accordion and also played the organ and piano.
He served a two-year mission in North Carolina. He had a look like The Duke, John Wayne, and could be intimidating. But underneath he was a big lovable teddy bear. He worked hard long hours to provide for his family.
He is survived by his wife Marcia; children Ryan and Sharla Swartz, Darek and Christy Swartz, Marne and Bryan Hawkes and Jayme Swartz. Also 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was a big tease but a great source in making wise decisions. He’s already missed so much.
Friends and family are invited to attend at Rudd Funeral Home- Tremonton at 111 N 100 E Tremonton, Utah. There will be a viewing from 10-11:30 A.M. on September 4, 2025, with a service to follow at Noon. Following the service he will be buried at the Malad City Cemetery.
