Anthony Tinney Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Anthony "Tony" Tinney was born to William "Billy" Tinney and Lauretta Tinney and raised by his devoted mother, Lauretta, with strength and unwavering love.
A proud graduate of South Philadelphia High School, Tony pursued his passion for learning and creativity through studies in computer technology and music, including time spent at the renowned Settlement Music School.
A gifted and passionate musician, Tony played five instruments-three of them self-taught. Music was the heartbeat of his life, and Stevie Wonder was his greatest inspiration. With his synthesizer and a deep well of talent, Tony created music from the comfort of his home, sharing his art with the world through his YouTube channel. His melodies reflected the joy, soul, and depth of his spirit-each note a legacy.
Tony worked faithfully for many years at Bob Evans Restaurant in Delaware. He was known as a reliable, hardworking, and loyal colleague-always someone you could count on, and someone who gave his best to every task.
Though he never married or had children, Tony's life was rich with deep and meaningful connections. His bond with his mother, Loretta, was especially strong. During his courageous battle with cancer, his greatest sorrow was the thought of leaving her behind.
Tony is lovingly remembered by his mother, Lauretta Tinney; uncles, Roma "Bubba" and Floyd "Pompy"; his Aunt Evelyn; and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends who mourn his passing but celebrate the music, laughter, and light he brought into their lives.
"Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand." - Stevie Wonder Tony understood that language-and he spoke it beautifully.
