Anthony "Tony" Monce, 74, of Akron, Indiana, passed away on February 8, 2026, at Auburn Village Nursing Home in Auburn, Indiana. Born on September 11, 1951, in Wabash, Indiana, to D. DeWayne and Jane Ann (Burkhart) Monce, Tony lived a life marked by dedication to his family.
On September 28, 1979, Tony married Teresa "Teri" Ashby, embarking on a partnership that was grounded in love and family values. Tony's greatest joy came from spending quality time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was a family-oriented individual, and his presence created lasting memories for those he loved. In moments of rest, Tony relished watching John Wayne movies, indulging in sports, and playing his PlayStation 5.
Tony was proud to be a graduate of Warsaw High School, where he completed his education in 1971. Following his studies, he went on to work for Kralis Brothers Food. He later went to work as a custodian at Zimmers and then Warsaw High School, from which he eventually retired.
The loving memory of Tony Monce will be forever cherished by his wife, Teresa Teri” Monce, Akron; children, Shane Ashby, Silver Lake and Angela (Dave) Sumpter, Warsaw; brother, Vincent Drake (Missy) Monce, Enon, Ohio; sisters, Deborah (Lennie) Edwards Jr., Georgia and Hannah (Doug) Jackson, St. Augustine, Florida; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Tony Monce’s life will be held Friday, February 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana 46962.
The family of Tony Monce has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
