Antoinette "Momo" Rose Garvey, 88, of Massillon, passed away peacefully at her daughter's residence on June 24, 2023. She was born on April 20, 1935 to the late Dominic and Nunziata (Tecca) Russo in Canton, OH. She was a 1953 graduate of McKinley High School. She married the love of her life Patrick Garvey on September 08, 1956. Together they raised 5 children.
Antoinette was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church for 62 years; a member of the Christian Mothers and the Red Hat Ladies. She worked as a Manager for Herbie's Heroes for over 30 years, where she gained many friendships. The greatest love was her family. Our home was filled with love, laughter and good cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Patrick Garvey; 2 brothers and 7 sisters. Antoinette is survived by her children Kathy (Doug) Lombardi, Patti (Carl) Konen, Pat (Tina) Garvey, Caroline Garvey and Mary Anne (Doug) Sisson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 due in September; her sisters Adelia Dager and Lena Russo and numerous nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her memory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:30a.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon from 6-8p.m. and from 9:00-9:45a.m. on Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family would to thank everyone for their love and support. A special thank you to her caregiver Michelle for her loving care. Thank you to Akron General/Cleveland Clinic Hospice, especially her nurse Taunia for all her guidance and care. Donations in Antoinette's memory can be made to Akron General/Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
