Bob was born in Omaha, NE on November 25, 1932. He married Carol Svendsen in 1952 and had a daughter and 4 sons from this union: Christine a.k.a Chava, Mike, Jim, Steve, and Andy. He then married Judy Everett Lopez in August of 1985 and were together for 37 years until her death on March 28, 2023.

Bob proudly served in the US Army with the 50th Signal Battalion of the 18th Airborne Corp, attached to the 82nd Airborne Division from 1953 to 1955. He served another 24 years in the National Guard with the 1/168 Field Artillery Battalion, as a meteorologist, equipment tech, a Q4 radar section chief and as a cook and battalion mess steward. He was inducted into the Order of St. Barbara Patron Saint of the Artillery and retired from the National Guard in 1995. He was active in Boy Scouts as a leader in several areas for 9 years and as a scoutmaster for 7 years. He was also a member of the American Legion for over 5 years.

Bob was employed by Northwestern Bell in Omaha, NE beginning in January of 1952 as a lineman, cable splicer, combination man, central office technician, and toll terminal technician until 1965. He moved to Sidney, NE as a toll tester in 1965. He retired from Northwestern Bell in 1994 after working there for over 42 years. Bob worked for the City of Sidney as an occasional employee from 1997 thru 2015. He served on the City of Sidney planning commission from April of 1995 thru October 2005 and on the Sidney Board of Adjustment from February 1998 thru 2000. He was also active in Pheasants Forever for 17 years where he enjoyed cooking for hundreds of people.

Bob enjoyed fishing and antelope hunting with his friends and family. He also enjoyed visiting campgrounds around the Nebraska Panhandle with his camping club. He also enjoyed cooking. Maybe sometimes a little bit too much spice, but his food was always delicious and unique. One of Bob's favorite hobbies included creating beautiful works of stained-glass art. Many homes and campers in the Sidney area still contain examples of his talent.

Bob and Judy loved traveling with their dogs, Buck and Duke in their camper. They camped together in all the lower 48 states and Alaska.

He is survived by 3 children, Mike and wife Kathy Pohl of Omaha, NE, Steve and wife Sonja Pohl of Bennett, CO, Andy and wife Beth Pohl of New Gloucester, ME, daughter-in-law Mary and husband Mark White of Glenwood Springs, CO, and son-in-law Richard Kantor of Israel.
