Antonia Polizzi Amodei, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, in Hampstead, North Carolina, at the age of 95. She was born on October 7, 1929, in Siculiana, Sicily. She lived most of her life in New Jersey before moving to Florida nearly 2 decades ago. Her career as a seamstress reflected her meticulous attention to detail, a skill she carried into all areas of her life. She enjoyed the simple pleasures, often found with a book in hand, playing cards with friends, or engaging in a lively game of bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carmela Marino Polizzi, her husbands, Cologero Indelicato and John Amodei, and her siblings, Carmela Polizzi, Francis Iacono, and Alphonse Polizzi. Antonia is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Hatcher (Bill) of Jacksonville, NC, Melissa Sacco of Allentown, NJ, and Victoria Massara (Alan) of Southport, NC. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Damron, Carl Wilk, Adam Sacco, Tori Massara, Mallory Massara, and Alan Massara, Jr., carry forward her spirit, along with eight great-grandchildren who will grow up with the stories of her warmth and grace. Services to celebrate Antonia's life will take place in New Jersey in June. Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville is honored to assist Antonia's family during this difficult time. Antonia's memory will forever remain a guiding light to her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed.
