Obituary of Antonia Marie Snee
Antonia Marie Snee, "Toni" passed away supported by the love of her family on January 12, 2024 at South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, MA following an illness.
From 1994 until her retirement in 2021, Toni worked as a librarian at the Scituate Town Library, finishing her career as the Assistant Librarian. She played a key role in managing the recent renovation of the library including the temporary relocation of the library and return of the library following construction. For the nine previous years, Toni was a librarian in the Town of Marshfield, MA. Early in her career, Toni worked at libraries in Illinois, New York, and Texas.
Toni was passionate about travel, collecting jewelry (including an impressive collection of unusual earrings), and genealogical research. Toni had an abiding love for animals and children.
Toni earned a Masters Degree in Library Sciences from the University of Rhode Island in 1981 and graduated with a BS in Education from Southern Illinois University in 1977.
Toni was preceded in death by her father, John J. Snee, and mother, Mildred A. Snee. She is survived by her brother John Snee and sister-in-law Kate (Macioci) Snee of Cohasset, MA, brother Bryant Snee of Falls Church, VA and by her sisters Susan Stolar of Tucson, AZ and Susan Fagundes of Kingman, AZ.
Toni was unfailingly kind and always put the interest of others before herself; she is well-loved and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Toni's memory to the Scituate Library Foundation (https://www.scituatelibraryfoundation.org/).
