Antonio L. "Coco" Guevara, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2025. He was born in Kosciusko, Texas on September 9, 1941 to Braulio and Rita Guevara.
Tony attended school in Poth, TX. In 1964, he married Bertha Garcia and the two began their life together. They resided in Floresville and San Antonio for a short period of time. Returning to Poth, they established their life-long home where they raised their three children. As time went on this home became the go-to place for many Super Bowl parties and Easter Good Friday fish fry parties. There was no love greater to him than that of his family. He was an adventurer at heart. He loved fishing, baseball, travelling and trying his luck at casinos. Journeys were made via airplane, vehicle, boats and ships. Lastly, his fondness for gardening provided many family members and friends with home grown tomatoes, cucumbers, squash and turnips throughout his lifetime. Tony was employed by Asgrow Seed Company and Pruski's Seed and Fertilizer.
Those who were awaiting his heavenly arrival are his parents, two brothers Alfredo Guevara, Braulio Guevara Jr and sister Herlinda Martinez.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Bertha Guevara, Children Sarah Guevara (Kelly Sharp), Steven Guevara (Russell Johnson), Johnny Guevara (Diane Korus), sisters Alice Guevara, Eloida Koehne (Barry), Esmeralda Sanchez (Robert), Anna Dziuk (Mark), brother Arnulfo Guevara (Sylvia) and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth beginning at 9AM, a Holy Rosary will begin at 10AM, and a Funeral mass to follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery following the mass.
