Antonio C. R. Mimoso "Mimoso", 75, of Swansea, formerly of Fall River, passed away on November 9, 2025, at Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River.
He was the loving husband of Maria Jose (Benfeito Janeiro) Mimoso.
Born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Acores, he was a son of the late Manuel Raimundo Mimoso and the late Maria do Carmo Rodrigues.
In his youth, Antonio served in the Portuguese military and was an agricultural laborer in the Azores. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Ponta Delgada. After moving to the United States, he worked at various places, including Santoro Manufacturing, Plymouth Rubber, and Alden Yachts. Antonio was a parishioner of Santo Cristo Church and possessed an extraordinary green thumb. He truly loved tending to his garden and his grapevine, and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. His grandchildren particularly enjoyed eating the raspberries and blackberries. He was also talented at grafting plants. An avid Sporting fan, he enjoyed weekend rides to flea markets and yard sales, fishing, cooking and singing. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren.
Along with his wife of 54 years, Maria (Benfeito Janeito) Mimoso, he is survived by his daughter, Maria Eduarda Pereira, and her husband Wayne; his grandchildren, Tyler Janeiro (wife Cindy), Monique Janeiro, and Bryce Pereira; his great-granddaughter, Aria Claudia Janeiro; his son-in-law, Paulo Jorge Janeiro; his siblings, Octavio, Maria do Carmo, Veneranda, Graca, Joaquim, and Bellinha (several of which predeceased him); and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Claudia Maria Janeiro.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Catholic Memorial Home, as well as South Coast Hospice, for their compassionate care.
