Antonio Almeida Sousa

Antonio Almeida Sousa, aged 77, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025 in Palm Coast, Florida surrounded by his loving daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchild. He was born February 25, 1948 in Vila Franca da Serra, Portugal to Jose and Felismina DeSousa.
He met his wife, Ana Sousa, in Danbury, Connecticut where they spent a majority of their lives, raising their daughters and grandchildren, before moving to Palm Coast in 2013.
Antonio loved spending as much time as possible with his family. You would always find him tending to the garden, caring for his chickens and rabbits, working on a new project, or helping others. He was always lending a hand and putting others ahead of himself. He was a loving and caring person-a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend-always thinking of others first. To know him was to love him.
He is survived by his daughters Isabella Sousa, Diane Locke (Ken) and Nancy Degree (Todd); grandchildren Michael, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Catherine Teixeira; Zachary and Kayla Locke; and Allison and Samantha Degree; and great grandson Leo Schovanec. In addition, he is also survived by his sister Olivia Neves, and his brothers Armandio DeSousa, Jose Sousa, Aquiles Sousa (Lourdes) and Fernando DeSousa (Luisa) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ana Sousa and his parents, Jose and Felismina DeSousa, brother Julio DeSousa and sister, Conceicaõ DeSousa.
His memory will live on in all of us, and he will be loved and missed forever.

You taught us what it means to work hard, love deeply, and never take a day for granted.
Though our hearts ache without you, your spirit will guide us through every tomorrow.
On Friday, October 17, 2025, there will be a public viewing at 10 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral mass to celebrate Antonio's life at 11 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, located at 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast, FL. A gathering will follow at his home.
