I wanted to share my condolences to the families and colleagues of the Aon staff that lost their lives on that terrible day. Reading some of the messages are truly heartbreaking and I couldn't read without paying my respects.

I was in my fifth-grade classroom when the towers were struck. All of the kids were watching the TV but could not process the gravity of what we were seeing. I can still remember the burning smell that enveloped Long Island. I remember the large trailing stream of smoke billowing from the towers. When I had learned many years later that 176 colleagues at Aon were lost, it was emotionally difficult to process. Today, I am thinking of those victims and their loved ones. I wish for peace for all who were affected, I hope for the dreams of those who survived, and I pray that none will ever have to bear witness to an event like in our lifetime.

I am thinking today of all the friendships I developed at Aon between 1993-1999. Hard to believe that 23 years have gone by. You may be gone; but are not forgotten.

I worked for UK Non-Marine Reinsurance in London and can remember this day so clearly. Watching the TVs in the office knowing we, particularly the North American team, had colleagues in there.

Knowing that they had the same business cards, probably mouse mats and desktop backgrounds...fonts, stationery, intranet...people just like us. At work, just like us.

I have fond memories of my time with Aon, but that day was heartbreaking. Sending love to the families, colleagues, survivors. To all those affected by this horrible event. Words can only convey so much but I will never forget.

My heart broke seeing the destruction of the trade center, prayed for all the victims and their families. I worked at AON in the Bellevue, WA office. I was home that day because I was on disability following a surgery from an accident. My husband called to check on me, and asked me if I had the TV on, and I hadn't. He said he heard on the radio the NY Trade Center was attacked, I immediately turned on the news. I later learned that AON had people in the trade center, then messages were posted on fences, walls, by family & friends trying to find their loved ones. 9/11 will never be forgotten, I pray this day for those survivors & their families who lost their loved ones.

I remember Wondering if a smart AON consultant I worked with in 1999 who handed me his card from WTC Building 5, 92nd floor was alive and being told by another consultant from the 1999 Benefits insourcing project a few weeks after 9/11 at the Peoplesoft Conference in Los Angeles 2001 that a NY coworker from DMBB was to be training on the 92nd floor that day and luckily her cab was late bringing her to the atrium at 9:15am when it rained down. Thank God both lived.

I worked for an Aon office outside of Boston, MA supporting many northeast region employees as a college intern. I sent countless emails and packages to our NYC team on a daily basis. I had the pleasure of talking to and corresponding with the NY team often, especially the secretaries, interns and coordinators. We kept things running. I returned to University following my second summer internship when the towers were hit. It was beyond devastating to watch as my colleagues and friends were running from or were murdered by the attacks on my tiny dorm tv. I was 20 years old.

I remembernthem every year on 9/11. Sending love to their families and peace to the survivors. I am now a 42 year old mother, and speak of their memory to my children every year 9/11. We light candles the them and will never forget.

On this day so many years ago, a meeting was scheduled. Four Aon colleagues flew in from Boston, California, Miami, and New York the prior day to attend. Our NY colleague lost his mother that day in building two, he would have been in building one. I will never forget the despair we felt. May God bless those families that lost a loved one that day, may He bring peace to your heart each day. We will never forget ....

This still burns my heart, my mind.my being. So many great friends.remember it so wellsitting in an off site meeting in Boston as a couple New York Aon members show a video of our New York Tower Two staff. Discussions were about the new way we were to do business in the future. All this while the 9/11 attack was going on in New York. We returned to our Aon Boston office, turned on the conference room TV just in time just to see Tower Two collapse. All bad.

Dear Aon Family & Friends of those lost on this 20th Anniversary 2021.

Wow! When I found this website today, I was very Thankful I could remember the employees on this 20th anniversary. Like all Americans I was devastated that such evil had reined down on our country, the devastation. How this happened & so orchestrated to our people, all our people, visitors, & people who had business on the various floors.
I worked for under the AON umbrella in Bellevue, WA. I had been serious car accident while on vacation. I was recovering from surgery my husband called me at home from work to ask if I had turned the TV on today. He told me he was devastated, I watched all day, all I could do was cry, pray, & cry more & pray. Then Later I started to see signs, posters, loved ones trying to locate loved ones & where they worked, & realized AON had a office in the area of the trade center. I didn’t know & it made me really upset & cry more & pray more, because these were part of my AON family. By the grace of God Go I.

My husband & I & couples from our Bible Study group asked if we could open our church for the community to pray. Our smaller sized was packed, we put out flags lining the driveway & signs. We had a service, music, open prayers. People stay quietly after wards to meditate & pray. It helped all of us with our grief, crying, holding hands.

I just want all of you, loved ones, families, we have not forgotten, we pray & remember. I remember these beautiful AON people & all of you. We pray for all people & every single person, family, first responders, & military. Those prayers extended to who have died from exposure whom took part in rescue & died from exposure through this past 20 years. They & their families suffered too, we remember them too.

Prayers of Thanks to AON who set up educational funds for college to employees lost on 911, & funds for the memorial & assistance. You were a great company to work for! Thank You!

May all Rest In Peace, until we meet again, sending love, prayers, you are an inspiration sharing your loved ones beautiful lives. We will raise our flags, praise God until we meet again. GOD BLESS AMERICA, Keep us strong & Unite Us!

Not sure why this year feels worse than the prior 19, but it does. Maybe in part it's the recent, tragic loss of those 13 young, brave American men and women in Afghanistan; maybe turning 75 yesterday and seeing my grandkids go off to college and knowing so many of my friends aren't around to share those wonderful moments with their families; maybe it's remembering all their smiling faces that haven't aged over time in my memories; or maybe because one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to know and work with canceled a meeting with me that day ... for that reason alone I'm still here, but sadly he isn't!
God Bless all the sons, daughters, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends and colleagues that were lost that horrific day.
Please take a moment tomorrow to say a prayer for everyone we've lost.
