April McClain was the youngest of twelve children, the beloved "baby of the family", and a blessing to her parents' union. She entered into eternal rest on September 1st. Though her time on earth was brief, her light, faith, and generosity touched everyone she met.

April graduated from Garner High School in 1997 and went on to continue her education at North Carolina Central University. Education was a pillar in her life. In 2023, she proudly graduated from Kenneth Copeland Bible College, earning her associate's degree. Just two weeks before her passing, she had completed her first semester at Oral Roberts University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with the dream of continuing toward a dual master's in Public Health and Business Administration.

April's faith in God was the foundation of her life. In 2019, she rededicated her life to Christ and became a member of Eagle Mountain International Church, where she met lifelong friends and joined the Overcomers group. Her commitment to worship and fellowship deepened her walk with the Lord. She was always ready to lift her voice in praise and extend encouragement to those in need. Her faith not only sustained her but also inspired others to draw closer to God.

April's love for helping others was one of the many reasons she was drawn to public health. She aspired to be a patient advocate, supporting individuals through their journeys with health disparities. On one occasion, she even spoke before a group of doctors, sharing the patient's perspective. Helping others came naturally to her-if she had it, she would give it. She often shared her favorite things, like beautiful Stanley cups, with people at church, her apartment complex, or anyone nearby. Bath & Body Works items and Stanley cups were among her favorite gifts to give. But her generosity went beyond material things; she freely offered prayers whenever someone needed them. April loved the Lord, and praising Him was a central part of her life.

April was preceded in death by her loving parents and two brothers, Wade McClain and Harold McClain. She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings: Lena and Lois of Garner, NC; Thel of Irvington, NJ; Vera of Kileeen, TX; John (Gwen) of Garner, NC; Sharon of Charlotte, NC; Deborah (Sean) and David of Killeen, TX; and Lisa of Durham, NC; A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

April's life was a testament of faith, love, and selflessness. She will be remembered not only for her laughter, kindness, and generosity but also for the way she uplifted others through both her words and actions. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit and legacy of giving will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
