Araceli Garcia Ojeda

Funeral services for Araceli Garcia Ojeda, 67, of Giddings, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings with Father Javier Toscano officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Araceli Garcia Ojeda was born on October 23, 1958, in Mexico. Her parents were Gabriel Garcia and Maria Louisa Hernandez-Mata. She married Refugio Ojeda Gonzalez on October 15, 1981. She worked for many years at Colorstar Growers in Giddings. Araceli was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and making tortillas. She was a devoted housewife and loving mother who loved having all of her family together. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person with a great sense of humor who was a hard worker and always trying to help others. Araceli loved the Virgin Mary and turned to her often in prayer, finding peace and guidance through her faith.

Araceli passed away, surrounded by her family, the evening of Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at her home in Giddings.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Araceli is survived by her six children, Sandra Ojeda of Giddings, Sonia Ojeda & Ramon Rodriguez of Giddings, David Ojeda of Giddings, Victoria Ojeda of Leander, George Ojeda of Giddings, and Juanita & Ramero Lopez of Giddings; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three brothers, Mario & Eva Garcia, Gabriel & Laticia Garcia, and Julian Garcia all of Mexico as well numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
