Obituary published on Legacy.com by William G. Basralian Funeral Service on Oct. 4, 2024.
Archie Bogosian, age 93, passed away on October 4, 2024 peacefully and surrounded by those who loved him most. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Juanita Bogosian, with whom he shared 72 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter.
Archie was a loving father to Deborah Bogosian and Paul Bogosian, a proud grandfather to Nicole Kochansky, Paul Kochansky, Victoria (Bogosian) DiDominica, and Demetria Bogosian-Fable, and a cherished great-grandfather to Antonio Torres, Dominic DiDominica, Alijah Torres, Lena Kochansky, and Viviana DiDominica. He also had a special bond with his sister, Mary Bogosian. Archie was preceded in death by his father, Hagop Bogosian; his mother, Iskoohi Oskouian; and his brother, Paul Bogosian.
In his early life, Archie enlisted in the United States Army. While serving, Archie was sent to Germany, where his wife followed him to. The two share such beautiful stories of this time in their life together.
Upon returning from serving abroad, Archie worked at his father's grocery store in Washington Heights. He then went to school to become a hairdresser and opened the first of three hair salons with his brother, Paul. Archie was deeply proud of his craft and was determined to give his great grandsons their first haircuts, which he lovingly did.
As a brilliant businessman, inventor, and scientist, Archie later co-founded Fantasia Industries, an international hair care company that continues to thrive today, with his brother in 1964. They later established Agadir International, further expanding their legacy in the hair care industry. Archie's passion for learning led him back to The City College of NY, where he studied chemistry. Equipped with this knowledge, he returned home to his basement, mixing chemicals in his wife's kitchen blender to create innovative products that are still being developed and sold by his son, Paul, and nephew, Jack.
Deeply proud of his Armenian heritage, Archie dedicated considerable time documenting and remembering the story of our ancestors. He was also meticulous in capturing his family's moments through photographs and video, often spending hours in the basement assembling video reels to create cherished home movies for future generations.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Archie had a love for golfing. Each week, he eagerly anticipated Fridays, where he would spend time enjoying lunch with his closest friends, affectionately known as "the boys".
Archie Bogosian's legacy is one of love, innovation, and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
