Steven B. Bogosian, 72, of Salem, NH, passed away on Wednesday, March 20th, at the High Pointe Hospice House. He was born on September 1, 1951, to the late Paul and Mary (Giragosian) Bogosian in Lawrence, MA. He was a 1970 graduate of Methuen High School, Methuen, MA, and a graduate of Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill, MA.
Steven met the love of his life, Sandra Makin, while on a blind date in 1972, and the two were married only three years later in 1975. The couple started their family in MA before later relocating to Salem, NH in 1995. For most of his career, Steven worked as a millwork salesman for Merrimack Valley Wood Products in Derry, NH. He then worked as a shuttle driver for Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence, MA.
Prior to his illness, Steven enjoyed staying active by frequenting the gym and was known to walk up to five miles every day. He was also an avid sports fan, with a particular devotion to the New York Football Giants. A proud season passholder since 1985, Steven was honored to be considered a "crazy Giants fan," and even had an entire room in his home devoted to the team. He was ever the collector with various interests ranging from watches to collectible pocket knives. Above all else, Steven most enjoyed time spent with his family and grandson, Steven John, whom he loved dearly.
Steven is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra; their daughter Cheryl A. McCurley and her husband Donald of Windham, NH, and his grandson Steven J. McCurley also of Windham, NH; his brother Paul Bogosian and his wife Kathy of Lawrence, MA; his father-in-law Herbert Makin of Windham, NH; his two brothers-in-law and their families; as well as several cousins, many old friends and wonderful neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Zaven Bogosian.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. At Steven's request, there will be no calling hours and services were private for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Organization at www.t2t.org or the MSPCA at Nevin's Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
