Ardella LaVaughn Deslandes, 74, of Columbus and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 11, 1950, the daughter of the late George Gustavus and Helen Lousie (Mabra) Deslandes. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Beverly Clark, Valarie Taylor, Vera Seward, and Michael Deslandes and an infant sister, Anna Marie.
She is survived by a son, Lamarr (Kathy) Deslandes, a daughter, Candice Deslandes, five grandchildren, Najee' Hodge, Marica Johnson, Olivia Deslandes, Tia Johnson, and Gustavus Deslandes, five great grandchildren; Gabriel Leal, Royalty Johnson, Melody Leal, Jamario Pettiford, Kaylani Hodge, her siblings; Richard (Charlotte) Deslandes, Howard Deslandes, Ruth Ann Strickland, and Dora (David) Bowling, two special nephews, Rollin Seward and Eric Deslandes-McKoy, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Ardella worked as an aid at Mary Rutan Hospital for a number of years before she went to Honda of America for 20+ years before her retirement. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, loved family get-togethers and having meals together with great food. She had been a member of Auburn Avenue Baptist Church, Bellefontaine.
Deacon Eddie Scipio will officiate a funeral service on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 1:30pm in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, OH 43311. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home, 11:30am to 1:30pm. Burial will follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
