Arden LeRoy Unrau, known to many as "Ardie," stepped into eternity on January 4, 2025, with the same grace, humility, and faith that characterized his life. Born in Wolf Point, MT on June 23, 1947, Arden's life was a testament to the Christian faith he held dear. His witty humor, dedicated work ethic, and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew him.
Arden's life was shaped by the soil and the Savior. He spent his career as a farmer and rancher, tilling the land with the same dedication and humility he brought to his spiritual life. In both arenas, he sowed seeds of faith and reaped a harvest of love. He was committed to seeing people find and follow Jesus Christ, and this commitment was reflected in his service as a Missions Treasurer & Trustee at the Lustre EMB Church and his involvement in the Gideon's organization. He also served in the US Army National Guard for 6 years out of college and served on the volunteer ambulance crew for Lustre and the surrounding area for a number of years. Arden was also a skilled woodworker and used his skills to make crafts and gifts that brought joy to many family members.
Arden's love for his family was unparalleled. He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene; his daughters, Melissa Kujala (Husband- David; Children- Cayden, & Sydney) and Bethany Hunt (Husband- Kevin; Children- Andrew & Rylee, Connor, & Lexi); and his brothers, Eldon Unrau and Gerry Unrau. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Marie Unrau, his sisters, Marian Kirk and Florence Chambers, and his daughter, Jennifer Unrau. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose devotion to Christ was mirrored in his love for them.
Arden's life is best summarized by the verse from Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." This verse encapsulated Arden's approach to his faith, his work, and his family. His life was a testament to these words, lived out with wit, dedication, generosity, and humility.
We invite you to share your memories of Arden and upload photos to his memorial page. As we celebrate his life, we remember that our hope is not in this world, but in the eternal life promised by our Savior. With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved Arden, knowing that we will see him again in the presence of our Lord.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 at Mt. Rainier Christian Center located at 1878 Osceola St N, Enumclaw, WA 98022.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family has asked for donations to support two important causes of Arden's:

Marty and Merry Van Cleave

February 17, 2025

So sorry to lose a good friend!! Arden and I had some great times together at MSU. Even though we didn't stay in touch very well, I considered Arden a good friend and often wondered what he was up to. He and Darlene and the girls came to visit Merry and I and family in Billings many years ago and we had a good time together. He will be missed!!
