Arduino Ceccacci Obituary
Arduino "Andy" Ceccacci, a man of faith, tireless work ethic, and an enduring love for his family, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at the age of 95. Andy leaves behind his beloved wife, Antoinette (née Orsini). He was a devoted husband in every sense of the word. The couple reached a magnificent milestone just days before his passing, celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary on January 24th. Though both were originally from Ceprano, Italy, fate waited to reunite them when they met at a wedding after Andy immigrated to the United States in 1949. They were wed on January 24, 1959, beginning a nearly seven-decade love story built on unwavering devotion and mutual respect.
Andy's life was a beautiful testament to the American Dream, rooted in the traditions of his Italian heritage and the deep bonds he shared with those around him. He and Antoinette remained deeply connected to their roots, making 18 cherished trips back to Italy over the years to visit family and friends.
Andy was a true craftsman at heart who took immense pride in his home and his cars. He was often found tending to his garden and his fruit trees and carefully growing tomatoes for canning and sauce, herbs for cooking, or crafting his homemade wine. A man of quiet independence, he handled his own home maintenance, proving his skill and dedication in every project he touched. When his work was done, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-an espresso with sambuca and the annual New Year's Eve dinner dances where he and Antoinette celebrated ringing in the New Year together with family and friends.
Andy's faith served as the cornerstone of his life. As one of the original members of the Cepranese Club, Andy's spiritual life was rich with tradition, including his and Antoinette's annual pilgrimage to Mass at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine in Indian River. Professionally, Andy was a proud, lifelong "GM man," serving as a crib attendant for Hydramatic of General Motors. His strong character and quiet dedication earned him the respect of all who knew him.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Giuseppe and Teresa (née Marian) Ceccacci and his brother and sister, Michele and Anna Maria. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his family as well as the many friends who were lucky enough to know him.
Visitation for Andy will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1pm to 6pm with a 4:30pm Rosary at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, located at 13650 Fifteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights. He will lie in state on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 9:30am until the time of a Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Matthias Catholic Church, located at 12311 Nineteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights. His entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to St. Matthias Catholic Church.
