Aretha was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Bennie Oscar Gardner; husband, Johnny Bright; sisters,Ernestine Watters, Erma West and Mary Page; brothers,Prentice Gardner, Sr. and Oscar Gardner.
She is survived by her son, David Duncan (Erin); grandchildren, Daviona Duncan, Brooke Worthen, Tiona Duncan and Gia Duncan; great-grandchildren, Leland Banks, Jr and Demi Duncan; siblings, Robert Gardner (Debbie), Bennie Gardner and Esterine Barker and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation: 11am-1pm Friday, November 15, 2024 at A. D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home, 1300 W. Chestnut St., funeral service to follow at 1pm.

Aretha was my godmother and inspiration to me my whole life...I will miss her laugh and smile and all the words of advice she gave me including a home sometimes..
David D is like a brother to me My prayers are with your entire family.....My best memory is the big lipstick kids she left on my son Austin...He couldn't get it off all day lol
