Arla Dawn Conkright, age 80 of White Cloud, Michigan earned her angel wings and is with our Lord and Savior on May 8, 2025. She was born September 23,1944 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Forest and Nola (Amick) Hudson. Arla married Patrick Conkright on April 18th, 1964,and he preceded her in death January 24, 2003. Arla was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly, son-in-law, Larry; sisters, Joann and LaVonna; and brothers Donald, Gerald, Jack, Dick, Leon, Terry and Rick.
She is survived by her sisters; Roxanne, Bonnie, Deb; and brothers Dennis, Norm, Jerry and Larry. She is also survived by her daughter, Michele (Mike) Dart, Teri (Craig) Scott; son Patrick Conkright, son-in- law Todd Sidwell, grandchildren Ashley and Jacob, Shana, Michael and Haylee, Breanna and Caleb, Cayleigh and Tre, Pat and Sky, Andrew; great grandchildren Mason, Amiya, Kaleb, Zayden, Jayce, Carsyn, Hunter, Brantley, Rylin, Colton, Noveigha, Emmerich and several devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews.
Arla loved spending time with her family and friends, singing, gambling, and listening to music. Arla was a long standing member of the White Cloud, Fraternal Order of Eagles and a founding member of Aerie #4170. She served several years on the Eagles Board and donated many hours contributing to club events and dinners. Frequently, you could see her singing Karaoke with her friends, playing cards and playing on her favorite nudge machine. Arla enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family. She is well known for her famous cookies and brownies.
Arla grew up in a large family and was 1 of 17 children. She loved her family and told many stories of each of her siblings. Arla graduated from Kelloggsville High School in Wyoming, Michigan. Arla married Pat in 1964. Later, in 1972 they moved to White Cloud, Michigan, where they raised their 4 children. Arla spent many years volunteering and attending various sporting events for her children. She could be heard cheering them on from the sidelines.
Early years, you may have seen Arla bartending and serving your favorite drinks at the White Cloud Bowling Alley and Eagles Club. She also worked and retired from the White Cloud Laundromat.
Arla was well loved by her family and friends. She will be missed. We love you mom, sister, grandma, great grandma, aunt, and friend.
Funeral Services will be held at Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud, Michigan on Friday, May 16th at 11 am with a 10 to 11 am viewing prior to the service. The funeral procession to White Cloud cemetery will proceed the funeral service. Please join the family for a luncheon and reminiscing at the White Cloud Lions Den at 1pm.
