Arleen Herlich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral & Cremation Services on Jun. 27, 2024.
MARQUETTE, MI - Arleen Ann Herlich, age 92, of Marquette, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024 at Mill Creek Assisted Living Facility in Marquette. Born on January 24, 1932, to John and Theresa (Miller) Musolf, Arleen's life was one marked by dedication, service, and the warmth of her personality.
Arleen was a proud graduate of Graveraet High School class of 1949. On March 3, 1951, Arleen married the love of her life, Glenn F. Herlich, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Marquette. Their union was blessed with love, laughter and the joy of raising three daughters. Although Glenn preceded her in death on February 24, 2004 their love story remained an inspiration to all who knew them.
After raising her children she embarked on a fulfilling career at the Marquette Medical Center, where she worked for over 30 years. Her commitment to her profession and the well-being of others was evident to all who worked alongside her.
Her professional life was paralleled by an active involvement in various organizations. Arleen was a respected member of the Business and Professional Women (BPW) and the Marquette-Alger Medical Assistants Society. She also dedicated her time as a volunteer at Marquette General Hospital, where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many patients and staff.
Arleen's faith was central to her life. She was a devoted member of Calvary Lutheran Church and formed a strong church family that supported her throughout her life.
Arleen is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Jerry Yannotta) Hinson of Boca Raton, Florida; Connie (Michael) Scott of Smock, Pennsylvania; and Karen Herlich of Jamestown, North Carolina.
She is also survived by two sisters, Carol (Robert) Tallio and Kaye Nason, both of Marquette; and several nieces and nephews. Arleen's role as a special Meme to Danielle (VanDreel) Ehret (Dave) was filled with joy and pride, as she watched her grow and thrive.
Arleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; sister, Bernice Michelin; and brothers, John Musolf, Raymond Musolf, William Musolf; and brother-in-law, James Nason.
In her final years, Arleen resided at Mill Creek Assisted Living, where she continued to engage in the activities she loved and maintained her lifelong friendships. Her presence there was a gift to the community, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Arleen's life was a testament to her strength, her generosity, and her unwavering spirit. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Arleen Ann Herlich's journey on earth has ended, but her story will continue to be told by those who loved her, and she will be missed dearly. As we say goodbye, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy of love, service, and faith will endure.
Friends may call Calvary Lutheran Church on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Services will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Agenten officiating. Burial will take place at the Park Cemetery in Marquette following the service. A reception will follow at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 450 West Ohio Street, Marquette.
