In Loving Memory of Arlene Whitten Crowe October 6, 1929 – June 16, 2025
Arlene Whitten Crowe, a beloved Mother and Mamaw, peacefully departed this world on June 16, 2025-exactly 22 years to the day after the passing of her husband, Claude "Jim" Crowe. She was born on October 6, 1929, to Arlie and Ollie Henson Whitten. She was united in marriage to Jim on December 4, 1943, and together they built a life on their family farm in Bethel Springs, Tennessee and where they raised six children. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her son Tim Crowe, her great-great-granddaughter Callie Claire Hefner, her sister Verda Whitten Lofton, and her seven brothers: Raymond, Wendell, Frank, Joe, Virgil, Junior, and Coy Whitten. She is survived by her children: Karen Crowe Cleary (Frankie), Richard Crowe (Jimmie), Judy Crowe Coaten (Billy), Terry Crowe (Mary Sue), Teresa Crowe Sullivan (Tim) Her legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren: Angie Stadinger (Robby) and their children Madelyn Hefner (Hutch), and Spencer Stadinger; Michael Cleary (April) and their children Carter and Kennedy Cleary; Chad Crowe and his children Katie and Will Crowe; Jeanie Beth Crowe; Bo Coaten (Jennifer) and their children Ava Claire and Eli Coaten; Niki Lincks and her son Bralen Lincks Jon Crowe (Wendy) and their children Emily Butler (Bailey) and their children Lillian and Anniston Butler, Ashley Crowe, and Casey Crowe; Nick Crowe (Brittany) and their son Karter; Amber Floyd (Alek) and their children Alyvia and Atlas Floyd; Suzanne Ingle (Brandon) and their son Dillon Bright Jai Jones and her children Katie Bright and Braden Jones Arlene loved to garden and everyone loved her sweet strawberries and biscuits and warm Sunday meals. If you were lucky enough to sit at Mamaw's table, you were fed with love-and you never left hungry. She was also known for her beautiful quilts. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her loving caregivers, Ms. Freda Weatherly, Ms. Mary Stanfield, and her niece Debbie Durbin. Arlene often said she was ready to go home, and now she has. We find peace in knowing she is joyfully reunited with those who went before her. Her life was a blessing and she will be missed dearly.
