Arlene Price Faison, 80, of Colonial Heights passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. Born in Danville, Virginia on September 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Rachel Hildred and Calvin Tilford Price, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Faison; daughter, Justine Lynn Good; and grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Good.
Arlene devoted herself to the role of a loving stay-at-home mother. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family, impacting the lives of those she encountered throughout her life.
Later, she worked as a paraprofessional, where she touched the lives of countless students at Lakeview Elementary and Tussing Elementary. Her commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and her genuine care for the well-being of her students made her a cherished figure in the school community.
Arlene had a passion for crafting. Crocheting held a special place in her heart, and she poured love into every stitch, creating beautiful baby blankets for each of her cherished grandbabies. Her artistic pursuits knew no bounds, as she enjoyed quilting, painting, and drawing, showcasing a talent that brought joy to those around her.
She was a former member of the Dancing Grannies, where she shared laughter and camaraderie with fellow members. The memories created during her time as part of this group serve as a testament to her vibrant spirit and the friendships she cultivated.
Her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of kindness, creativity, and warmth will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Crutchfield (Steve Crumpler); three grandchildren, Justin Jarrell, Tiffany Crutchfield, Trey Good (Carrie); nine great-grandchildren, Aeva, Keegan, Lucas, Justis, Taryn, Emma, Rylan, Georgia, Fredrick; sister, Janett Boyce; numerous nieces, nephews, adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W Hundred Rd, Chester, VA 23831. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
