Arlene L. Petschke, age 88, of Hinckley, IL passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. She was born on March 17, 1937 in La Fox, IL the daughter of Otis R. and Lila (Thompson) Abell.
Arlene was united in marriage on May 10, 1958 to Roger I. Petschke and spent the next 53 happily together until his passing on November 5, 2011. She was a longtime member of the Hinckley First United Methodist Church in Hinckley, IL. In her earlier days, Arlene was employed at Barber-Greene in Aurora, IL and also with Adolph Miller Real Estate in DeKalb, IL. She worked with her husband at their real estate company, Village Realty in Hinckley. Currently Arlene was the owner of LincolnView Apartments LLC in Hinckley. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Robert Petschke of Hinckley, IL, David Petschke of Elburn, IL, and Susan Petschke of Hinckley, IL; her granddaughters, Kristen Durham of Hinckley, IL and Kaitlin (Jake Hill) Petschke of Broomfield, CO; her great-grandson, Riley Taylor; and her sister-in-law, Rebecca Abell of Round Rock, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Lila Abell; her husband, Roger Petschke; her brothers, Merle Abell and Roy Abell; her sister, Jean and brother-in-law, Donald Schuldt; her husband's parents, Irvin and Opal Petschke; and her nephew, Byron Schuldt.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Hinckley First United Methodist Church, 801 N. Sycamore St., Hinckley, IL with Pastor Derek Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.
Friends may visit from 1:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley, IL.
