Arlene E. Schoettler, age 90, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital. Arlene was born in Abbotsford, WI, on November 11, 1932, to the late Fred and Mary (Sprotte) Denzin. She was later married to Joe Schoettler on August 30, 1952; he preceded her in death.
Arlene was a graduate of Tomahawk High School. After graduation, she entered the workforce beginning employment at Bradley Bank. Arlene was a dedicated homemaker who lovingly raised her family. She and Joe owned and operated a bait shop for some time and also operated Schoettler's Christmas Tree Farm. She was a talented cook and baker, she loved spending time outside gardening, and enjoyed reading.
Survivors include her son, Thomas Schoettler, of Tomahawk; her daughters, Jean (Louis) Cordova, of Tomahawk, and Cindy (Bob) Steele, of Flagstaff, AZ; and her daughter-in-law, Julie Valderas, of San Antonio, TX. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Jenny (Scott) Symonds, Derek (Jen) Cordova, and Erin (Kevin) Frendin, in addition to nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mary; her husband, Joe; her son, Fred; and her siblings, Elsie, Arno, Viola, Ray, Alvin, Millie, and Dora.
Memorial services for Arlene Schoettler will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 12:00 PM, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Fr. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
