Arlys Buer Obituary
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Providence Valley Lutheran Church, rural Dawson. Pastor Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24 from 5 - 7:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will also be at the church for one hour before the service.
Arlys Marlene Buer was born in Montevideo on April 21, 1938 to Alfred and Mabel (Moen) Femrite. She attended Country School Districts 12 and 48 until 7th grade and then 8th grade in Dawson before attending Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis for two years. On January 27, 1962 Arlys was united in marriage to Todd Emerson Buer at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church. They made their home in Dawson and they had 5 children.
Arlys was a member of Providence Valley Lutheran Church and was a active member of the Women of the ELCA. In her spare time Arlys enjoyed quilting, handiwork, and sewing and was a member of the Flying Geese Quilting Club and the Muslin Maidens group. Above all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cherished every moment with her grandchildren.
Arlys is survived by her children: Brett (Rose), Dawson, Kari (Rob) Johnson, Sacred Heart, Troy (Natalie), Dawson, Shane (Jill), Dawson; 13 grandchildren: Blake, Heath, Tyler, Cade, Jackson, Severine, Josiah, Daniel, Tomka, Hannah, Signora, Naomi, Isaac; sister-in-law, Arlyce Femrite and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Todd; son, Heath; brother Mahlon; and in-laws, Eldred and Mae Buer.

My first memory of Arlys was at her wedding to my cousin at Lac qui Parle Lutheran. I was 6. I babysat for Todd and Arlys over the years so they could have a date night.
