He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lisa McKinney Asaro, daughters, Leah Asaro and Jenna Asaro Hall, brother Vito (Dana) Asaro, grandsons Austin Burkeen and Ashton Burkeen, nephews Keith (Jamie) McKinney, Kevin McKinney, Quinn (Lexie) Asaro, niece Hayley Asaro (Garrett) Dinicola, and mother-in-law Millie Wooldridge McKinney.
In 1979, Armando graduated Salutatorian of Prytania Private School. He studied Political Science at UNO and Loyola University. He entered the New Orleans Police Academy in 1984 and served as a police officer and detective. He retired in May 2020 with 36 years of service.
As a faithful servant, Armando was a member at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Paducah and previously The Vineyard Church New Orleans.
The family is thankful for the superb care and love bestowed by The Neighborhood of Paducah and Hospice.
Visitation for the Paducah area will be Saturday, October 12, 2024, 3pm - 5pm at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah.
New Orleans visitation will be Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11am - 1pm at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, Canal St. New Orleans. Funeral services will begin at 1pm with Pastor Phil Jeansonne officiating. Interment follows at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
Celebration of Life is Sunday, October 20th, 2024 from 2pm-4pm at Reunion Shelter- City Park 4 Frederich Ave, New Orleans, La 70124
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Oaklawn Baptist Church Missions Fund, 500 Oaks Rd. Paducah, KY 42003, Alzheimer's Association, and Italian American St. Joseph Society Scholarship Fund https://italianamericnsociety.org.
