B.0.I., Armando "Mondo" Flores, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025. Mondo was born in Galveston, Texas on January 26, 1945 to Rodolfo and Petra Barrientos Flores. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and St. Patrick Catholic Church (Holy Family Parish).
Armando, known to everyone as "Mondo" came from a large loving family who gave him numerous nephews and nieces. Throughout his entire life, Uncle Mondo (as referred to by everyone) offered his love, support and advise, pushing everyone to strive for the best. Mondo left an impact on everyone's life that he touched. He now leaves a great legacy of love and hope for all to see and remember him by. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rudy, Celso, Arthur and Joe Flores; sister, Maria F. Hinojosa; sister in laws, Eva Flores and Maggie Flores; and niece Josette Flores. He is survived by his brothers, Gonzalo "Pepe" Flores of Corpus Christi and Valentine Flores of Galveston; sister Lillie and husband Captain Dennis Padron of Galveston; most loving nephew David Flores, numerous nieces and nephews; cherished friends, Radzieski Family, Adina Schekewy, Angie Media, Ben Lopez and John Inclan.
At his request, there will be a private Memorial in Bastrop, Texas at Phelan Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held in Galveston at a later date.
