On the morning of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Armando went to be with the Lord. He was born on December 3, 1936, in Alamo, Texas to the late Luciano and Ramona Galaviz. Later in life on December 24, 1957, he went on to marry Esperanza Rodriguez in Lubbock cherishing fifty-three years of a loving marriage before she preceded him in death on January 27, 2011.

Armando carried a spirit that was both strong and quietly profound. Armando dedicated much of his life to truck driving. He drove numerous years for and retired from White Swan Trucking. Truck driving was a career he treasured very much, he cherished driving so much that he went back to work for The Idalou Cotton Gin for numerous years. The miles driven were not just a means to an end, but a canvas upon which he crafted memories and friendships along the way.

Those who knew Armando will remember him as a very strong person; a man of few words whose quiet nature belied the depth of his life experiences. He cherished his army stories, he had a penchant for sharing tales that illuminated moments of bravery and camaraderie. Armando also found joy in simpler pleasures, like playing bingo, tinkering with mechanics, and particularly valuing his privacy, which allowed him to reflect on the rich tapestry of his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife Esperanza Galaviz; parents Luciano and Ramona Galaviz; a son Ricardo Galaviz; a grandson Michael Eric Urrutia; four brothers Luciano Galaviz, Raymond Galaviz, Roland Galaviz and Jesse Galaviz; three sisters Micaela Villegas, Lola Rojas and Hortencia Galaviz.

Survivors include Two sons Armando Galaviz Jr. and Jesse Galaviz both of Lubbock; two daughters Elda Urrutia (Ricardo) of Idalou and Alma O'Connor (Bradley) of Lubbock; two sisters Maria Nava of Lubbock and Connie Castillo; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
