Arnold Ameral

Arnold Ameral, 86, of Tyngsborough, MA, and formerly a longtime resident of Billerica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 24, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to the late Doreen E. (Baker) Ameral, who predeceased him in 2016.
Born in Cambridge, MA, Arnold was the son of the late Albin and Evangeline (Pimental) Ameral. Shortly after turning 18, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier.
For many years, Arnold was employed as a diesel mechanic with St. Johnsbury Trucking and was a proud member of the Machinists Union. Known for his remarkable ability to fix anything, he was happiest when working with his hands-whether building models, assembling Legos, or tackling projects around the home. He was always on the move, eager to lend his skills to help family and friends.
Above all, Arnold was a devoted family man who cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and, later, his great-grandsons.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kristine MacNeill and her husband David of Tyngsborough, MA, and Kathleen Hayes and her longtime partner Kenneth Tassi of North Chelmsford, MA; his grandchildren, David MacNeill and his wife Madison of Concord, NH, Paige MacNeill and her partner Michael Pelletier of Pelham, NH, and Mitchell MacNeill of Tyngsborough, MA; and his great-grandchildren, Finlay MacNeill and August MacNeill. Arnold was predeceased by his 7 older siblings and leaves behind 2 beloved sisters-in-law.
Funeral Notice Visitation for Arnold Ameral will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, N. Chelmsford, MA 01863. Funeral service will follow at 9:30 a.m. at Dolan Funeral Home. Private burial at a later time at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
