Arnold J. Bacon ("Arnie" / "AJ")
Passed away peacefully at his home on May 17, 2024, at the age of 83 with his wife and two daughters by his side after a two year, hard fought battle with kidney disease.
Arnold was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He worked for Longview Fibre Company for 40 years before retiring as a Box Designer. He always loved nature and enjoyed being out in the sunshine. After he retired, his hobbies included creating things with his hands, whether it was woodworking, oil paintings, pencil sketching, photography, or planting/gardening. He loved watching the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family. He was a big Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley fan and loved to sing along or tap to his favorite music. He and his wife Jane were long-time parishioners of St. Matthias Church.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of almost 55 years, Jane (O'Keefe) Bacon, his daughters, Amy LaBelle (Jon) and Brenda Lisota (Chris) and his five grandchildren that he loved Ashley, Andrew, Ryan, Emma, and Abby. His fur grandbabies Maggie, Lacy, Mia, and Riley who will also miss his company. He is survived by his siblings Virgil (Gin), Richard (Sue), Lucy (Joe), Ardis (Don), Rudy (Bonnie), Ruben (late wife Jane), Mike (JoAnn) and many other relatives and friends.
Arnold is preceded in death by his mother Viola (Gall), father Everett Bacon, brother Darryl and sisters Alice, Olive and Abbie.
The family would like to acknowledge their deep appreciation of all the caregivers and staff at Vitas Hospice Care for their support and care of Arnold.
Visitation and Mass will be at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 9306 West Beloit Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 with visitation from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and Mass to follow. He will be laid to rest in a niche during the interment service at St. Matthias Cemetery immediately following the Mass. A celebration of life luncheon will be held for family at the home of Brenda Lisota following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Matthias Church, or charity of your choosing.
