ARNOLD C. GREEN, age 88 of Vinton, OH, passed away at 5:42 PM on Tuesday February 25, 2025 at his grandson's house surrounded by his family in Fletcher, OH. He was born in Pruden, TN, in Claiborne County on January 16, 1937 to the late Joseph and Stella (Sells) Green. He married Eva Nell Green 68 years on February 23, 1957 in Richmond, IN and she survives.
Arnold is also survived by five children: Gale (Candy) Green, Vinton, OH; Carolyn Preston, Piqua, OH; Brenda Fair, Piqua, OH; Altie Adkins, Piqua, OH; Rocky Green, Vinton, OH; He is also survived by two brothers and sister in law: Bill Green, Troy, OH; Ralph (Barb) Green, Piqua, OH and one sister and brother in law: Lillie (Gerald) Miller, Piqua, OH; Thirteen grandchildren, Thirty Five great grandchildren and Seventeen great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson: Gale E. Green, Jr., two granddaughters: Tabitha Sheets and Tiffany Sowers, and six brothers: Charles, Robert, Paul, Calvin, Floyd, and James, and two sisters: Delitha and Irene.
Arnold was an active member of the community and was a member of Willow Creek Baptist Church, Vinton, OH. He worked for French Oil in Piqua, OH for 10 years before going to work at Dinner Bell in Troy, Ohio for 15 years, all while running his own business of 50 years Green's Tree Service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but what he most enjoyed was spending time with his family. Arnold moved to southeastern Ohio when he retired where he and his wife enjoyed the farm they lived on. They also enjoyed each other and watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren play. He will be sadly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Celebration of Arnold's life will be held at 1:00PM on Monday March 3,2025 at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Wagner officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, OH. The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday March 2,2025 at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made in honor of Arnold to Wildlife Reserve in Piqua, Ohio at www.miamicountyparks.com
