It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold ("Arnie") Walker Rankin, who left us peacefully on August 26, 2025 at the age of 85 at his home in Union, KY.
Arnie was born on January 31, 1940 in Covington, KY to Harold and Zadia Rankin. He went on to pursue a career at Ford Motor Company as a Tool and Dye Maker and retired after 45 years of employment.
Arnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Rankin; his brother, Harold Rankin II; his daughter, Deborah Warner (husband Michael Warner); as well as his granddaughters, Emily Buelow and Sydney Buelow, and his son-in-law, Stephen Cannon.
Arnie is survived by his wife, Melody Rankin; his sisters, Shirley Wright and Barbara Wiesman; his children, Jim Hinson, Lisa O'Brien (husband John O'Brien), and Audra Cannon; his step-daughters, Amanda Warner (husband Bryson Warner), Natalie Bishop (husband Josh Daniel), and Melissa Bishop. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lindley Winchester (husband Nick Osmundson), Evan Winchester, Walker Buelow, Nathan Buelow, Stephen Cordell, Stacy Soto, Ashley Stewart, Alliyah Ahlers, Reis Warner, Owen Warner, and Isla Vallandingham. Additionally, Arnie leaves behind his great-grandchildren: Luca Rankin, Jedidiah Soto, Jadon Soto, Jeriah Soto, and Patricia Hinson. They will forever cherish the memories they shared together.
A celebration of life will be held on October 3, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, located at 45 N Main St, Walton, KY 41094. All friends and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects and share memories of Arnie.
