Arthur L. "Archie" Anderson, Jr., 73, of Gore, VA, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Rose Hill Health & Rehab in Berryville, VA.

Archie was born on June 9, 1952, in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Arthur L. "Lyndall" Anderson, Sr., and Betty Kern Purtlebaugh Anderson. Archie worked at Rubbermaid Corporation in the warehouse shipping department, a 1971 graduate of James Wood High School in Winchester, VA. He was a member of the James Wood Athletic Hall of Fame, where he played under Coach Walter Barr. Archie was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church. He enjoyed football, hunting, and spending time with his girls, and especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters: Toni L. Anderson of Winchester, VA & Tamra K. Anderson of Gore, VA; a step-daughter: Wendy Everhart (Bill) of Winchester, VA; three grandchildren: Leah Campbell, Tyler Anderson & Kaylynne Davis; a brother: Jeff Anderson (Valerie) of Sumerduck, VA and a sister: Pam Spaid of Gore, VA.

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Linda S. Anderson and Sharon A. Anderson.

A celebration of Archie's life will be held at the Gore Fire Hall on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1-4 PM.
