Arthur F. Constant

Arthur F. Constant of Hingham, MA passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, at the age of 102. Art was the beloved husband of 73 years to Arlene (Jacobs) Constant.
Arthur grew up in North Quincy and lived in Wollaston until he was 90. He was a graduate of Northeastern University as a chemical engineer and worked as a metallurgist for 40 years. Arthur served in the Navy for two years during WW2 on the USS Ashland covering the South Pacific, as an electrician and a photographer.
Art and Arlene owned a home in Wollaston (Quincy) MA for 60 years. They were "snow birds" at their home in Delray Beach, FL for 25 years.
Art was past president of Probus Club of the South Shore, helping handicapped individuals with living arrangements, transportation, and acquiring jobs.
For the past 10 years Art and Arlene have resided at Linden Ponds in Hingham, MA where they enjoyed the friendship of many wonderful people and the great activities they have to offer. They could often be seen strolling the beautiful grounds of Linden Ponds where Art was involved with the Environmental Club. His last act before passing away was pinning his granddaughter Captain Kezia Constant with the rank of Major in the US Army.
Art, a quiet soul and a rock of understanding, his family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his wife Arlene, his son, Dr. Stephen Constant and daughter in law Linnea, his daughter and son in law Susan and Michael Zax, and daughter Amy Klausmeyer. Grandfather of cherished grandchildren; Adam Zax, Alissa Linden, Cindy Constant, Kezia Reed, Jakob Constant, Dr. Jemma Constant, Levi Constant, Ethan Klausmeyer, Noah Klausmeyer and great grandchildren Vinny, Clarke, Eleanor and Lyla.
